8 Movies The Simpsons (Probably) Spoiled For You

7. The Graduate

The Simpsons Dr Zaius

The best-pitched The Graduate parody comes in Lisa's Substitute, otherwise known as the Season 2 episode everyone universally loves. Starring Dustin Hoffman (under the pseudonym Sam Etic), the plot doesn't really follow his 1968 classic, but it does use several iconic moments for its key scenes (including a brilliant "Are you trying to seduce me?" gag). None of this is all that spoilerific though (it's riffing on stuff from early in the film).

However, there's still been multiple times to glass-hitting ending's being used. It first popped up in Once in One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Blue Fish, but there it's innocuous enough to not explicitly spoil what's going on. Lady Bouvier's Lover is less subtle, basically paying off the end of the Grandpa, Mr Burns, Jacqueline Bouvier love triangle with a straight up rip. There's even a cover of Sound Of Silence addressed at Grandpa.

Between that and Boogerstrom, it feels like they've remade the whole film.
