7. Hannah Horvath - Girls
Hannah is a 24 year old up-and-coming writer living in Brooklyn. When her parents decide enough is enough and cut the apron strings it means Hannah has to find a real PAID job, leave her voluntary internship behind and fund her own life. Hannah breaks the news to her friends saying, "So I calculated and I can last in New York for 3 and a half more days. Maybe 7 if I don't eat lunch." She's straight-talking and neurotic and not afraid to speak her mind, like when she told someone "I made a mistake trying to repurpose you", ouch! A lot of Hannah's personality comes from the awkward pauses and the vacant expressions and she's far from what you'd call a 'girly girl', explaining to someone "last time I got drunk I ate all this brie and threw up on my cell phone". Her laid-back zany nature speaks to so many women today, or in her own words, "I think I might be the voice of my generation. Or at least a voice. Of a generation."
