9 Most Common Types Of Doctor Who Fan

Which one are you?

Ah, Doctor Who fans are a weird and wonderful bunch, aren't they? They're notorious for being one of the most dedicated fandoms in the world but, like every community, they can be segregated into even smaller demographics. People assume that the Doctor Who fandom, affectionally referred to as the 'Whovians' (although there are some that detest that title which is our first example of just how conflicting inner-fandom opinions can be!), is a strict progression of cause to effect but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wobbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff. As this list will show, there are different types of Doctor Who fan and over the next few pages you'll be introduced to 9 of the most popular variations. It's worth pointing out (before you're all unleashed in the comments!) that this list isn't designed to cause offence. It's a lighthearted look at the fandom written by a fan so please don't take it to heart if any of the more negative aspects are a little too close to home. Every friend of the Doctor is a friend of ours, no matter how extreme their devotion to him might be, so take it in the spirit in which it was intended and everything will be just fine. Oh, if you're not a Doctor Who fan and you're reading up on what the show's community has to offer, don't let this list put you off, either. Generally speaking (and believe it or not), the Doctor Who fandom is a great place to be. As with most things in life, though, there are just some who have to take it to the extreme, as you'll soon discover for yourself...
