American Horror Story: Apocalypse delivered in every way possible with its Murder House-themed episode last week, which was always going to be a tough act to follow.

The drama nonetheless continues in Traitor, which proves to be a much more subdued instalment for the post-apocalyptic series.

After the events of last week, the witches of Miss Robichaux's Academy are now aware of Michael Langdon's true identity, and they're hellbent on putting a stop to the Anti-christ once and for all. It's tough for Cordelia, as her power begins to wane since a new Supreme has been chosen. There are quite a few more throwbacks to the days of Coven, which die-hard fans of the show will likely appreciate.

Unfortunately, it's not an entirely plot-driven episode, as the narrative stalls in quite a few places, and the writer opts for moments of comic relief instead of hard-hitting drama, which ultimately dilutes the seriousness of the upcoming apocalypse.

The Coven-esque episode provides us with many great moments, but the slow narrative progression - not to mention the glaring absence of Michael Langdon - makes Traitor one of Apocalypse's weaker instalments.
