Community: 15 Greatest Episodes So Far

nbc-community-logo-title Community has had a rough run. Plagued by low and continually worsening viewership levels, it's continued its battle against expectations and has constantly thrown newer and weirder stories at us. But then, after season 3 had finished its run, showrunner and executive producer Dan Harmon was essentially fired by NBC and replaced by Moses Port and David Guarascio. After some initally cold reviews, season 4 is slowly shaping up, though the view numbers drop ever more. But at this point, we'd like to take a moment and review what have proven to be Community's greatest hits. Whether they're from the first season (which also got off to a rocky start), he second season, which showed its increasing hilarity and heart, or from the third season, which is the single best season of any TV show in history, these are all amazing episodes that prove Community will forever be remembered as being one of the greatest sitcoms in television history...

15. Contemporary American Poultry (Season 1, Episode 21)

The story begins simply: The school cafeteria has special days where fried chicken fingers are served, which creates much stress amongst the students since the fingers run out so fast. The episode picks up with the seven primary characters (The Greendale Seven) getting there just as they run out of chicken. They see though, a member of the cafeteria crew has tucked some of the chicken away and is delivering it to all his friends, so the Greendale 7 plot to get him fired and replace him in the cafeteria with one of their own, namely Abed who grew up working for his father's falafel stand. The episode closely follows the style of a mafia movie, with the Greendale 7 eventually taking over nearly the entire school thanks to the power they receive stealing and redistributing the chicken fingers, even being able to bribe their Spanish teacher into bumping their grades. Finally Abed, the center of the operation, realizes what they've become and sets out to destroy his own crime family. Best line: "My monkey hates this caviar!"
