Doctor Who: 5 Awesome Things Peter Capaldi Is Bringing To 12th Doctor

Peter Capaldi, Chris AddisonDoctor Why Him? It's always a delight to see a famous/infamous part go to a familiar actor. When I watched Season 3's "The Runaway Bride," my roommate prefaced it by saying that Catherine Tate was a HUGELY popular comedienne in Britain and her appearance on the show was thrilling, exhilarating, even a little scary. Now that I have watched The Catherine Tate Show, I have an understanding of why that might be. The same holds true for Peter Capaldi. I'm sure that some people in the audience were clapping just because they respected that he was taking on such an important role, but there had to be Vicar of Dibley fans and people who loved to hear Malcolm Tucker spew the f-word every few seconds in The Thick of It. I personally got excited because he was one of the major players in my favorite Whoverse serials: Torchwood: Children of Earth. So now that we have a face and a name to put with the Twelfth Doctor, I'd like to point out five things that we can look forward to based on his career. His expression in every promo suggests an air of "Strap in. This is going to be one hell of a ride."
