The return of two-parters in Doctor Who series nine brought back a long-standing tradition from the classic era; the weekly cliff-hanger. While the show has had some great cliff-hangers since it returned in 2005 - Professor Yana is the Master, Amy is Flesh - audiences have been a bit starved of late. With the exception of the series seven cliff-hanger 'introducing John Hurt as the Doctor' in the lead up to the 50th anniversary special, we didn't have a nail biting finale until the Master-Missy / Cyberman invasion in series eight's Dark Water.
