Doctor Who: Ranking All The Series 9 Cliff-Hangers

Moments where we didn't quite know what would happen next.

The return of two-parters in Doctor Who series nine brought back a long-standing tradition from the classic era; the weekly cliff-hanger. While the show has had some great cliff-hangers since it returned in 2005 - Professor Yana is the Master, Amy is Flesh - audiences have been a bit starved of late. With the exception of the series seven cliff-hanger 'introducing John Hurt as the Doctor' in the lead up to the 50th anniversary special, we didn't have a nail biting finale until the Master-Missy / Cyberman invasion in series eight's Dark Water. Series nine changed all that. With multiple two-parters and connected stories, we've been treated to some major cliff-hanger over recent weeks. From character deaths to twists and revelations few people saw coming, the show has returned to the days of old when the Doctor and his companion(s) would face certain death and fans would be desperately pondering their fate for a whole week. With Heaven Sent delivering the latest mind-blowing revelation, now is the time to look back over eleven weeks and multiple cliff-hangers. Which one was the best?
