Game Of Thrones: 10 Reasons Why A Prequel Series Would Be Awesome

Better Call Ned.

With glossy production values and storytelling unprecedented for television, HBO has all but guaranteed a devoted audience for Game Of Thrones for as long as it continues to run. In fact, the biggest complaint that many fans have for the series is that each season insists on ending after ten episodes. Even viewers well-versed in the book lore that inspired the show can be heard cursing those deliciously devilish cliffhangers after each finale. Fortunately for fans, the current climate of the entertainment industry has opened the saga up for potential expansion during those seemingly endless hiatuses. With the Lord of the Rings trilogy spawning a hugely successful run of Hobbit films and legions of Breaking Bad veterans tuning in to watch Better Caul Saul each week, there has never been a better time for production of prequels on large and small screen alike. And what more ideal franchise for prequel expansion than Game of Thrones? HBO has a goldmine of material from George R. R. Martin's novels that is practically begging for adaptation to screen, and plenty of hints have been dropped over the years that the previous generation of main players in the Seven Kingdoms had one heck of a tale to tell. So, here are ten reasons why a prequel series to Game of Thrones would be totally awesome. Warning: Book spoilers ahead.
