Game Of Thrones: 6 Best Moments From The Watchers On The Wall

Giants, Mammoths, manly staring into the middle distance... This episode had it all.

After shocking viewers with the sudden and brutal death of Oberyn Martell, this week€™s episode of Game of Thrones leaves that plot, and many others, hanging as it focuses on the Night€™s Watch battle against the Wildlings€™ attempts to breach the Wall. The result is another battle episode like the penultimate episode of season 2, Blackwater, where we stay in one location, a rarity for Game of Thrones. Directed once again by Neil Marshall, The Watchers on the Wall is hands down one of the most cinematic action scenes in the history of television. It trumps Blackwater in both its battle sequences and special effects, which are hugely impressive given the budgetary limitations this show has. The entire crew is clearly more experienced this time, as there is a confidence in presentation and direction that wasn€™t present in Blackwater. Overall, this episode will surely go down as one of the best of the series; it manages to capture the essence of this sequence from the books while also remaining its own. Given the intensity of the material this week, the episode is full of fantastic moments both big and small, of which Game of Thrones always excels at. Jon, Sam, Ygritte, and even minor supporting characters like Pyp and Grenn all get their moments to shine. Here are some of most notable moments from The Watchers on the Wall€
