The upcoming season of Game Of Thrones signals a new era for the show. With little book material left to adapt, it is officially sailing into uncharted territory, and now not even those who have read the books know exactly what will go down this season. It is both an exciting and terrifying prospect to look forward to. Much speculation has concentrated on what this situation means for both the show and the books. Even George R.R. Martin himself has added fuel to the speculation by warning that characters who are still alive in the books will die this season. Considering that the show has had a history of killing off some characters early, this shouldn't come as a complete surprise, but it does light the fire underneath the fans who have grown comfortable knowing the fates of their favourite characters. Now all bets are off for characters big and small, which doesnt bode well for a show known for brutally killing off its most sympathetic and well-liked characters.
