10. Mance Rayder

Mance Rayder, leader of the free folk beyond the Wall, is currently no longer free. Taken by surprise by the sudden intervention of Stannis Baratheon, he is now a prisoner along with many other high ranking wildlings. Needless to say, Mance will not be in any position of power at the beginning of this season. Those who have read the books know that Mance's role isn't over just yet, but it's harder to say that in regards to the television series. Mance has been severely underdeveloped compared to the book version of the character, and when you combine this with the massive changes to the story, it is very possible that he may no longer have a necessary place in the show. This is further supported by the trailer, which shows Melisandre preparing a large sacrifice. Is she preparing to sacrifice Mance Rayder? It's certainly possible, but it is also possible she could be preparing to sacrifice someone else. There's really no way to know for certain just yet, but given how disinterested the show's writers appear to be in Mance, don't be surprised if they get rid of him and have another wildling character take his place. Fans of the King-Beyond-the-Wall won't be happy, but since when does Game of Thrones care about your happiness?
