Game Of Thrones: 20 Most Paused Moments

18. Lysa Arryn Breastfeeding (Season 1, Episode 5)

One of the more disturbing sights in season one is when we first meet Lysa Arryn, the wife of murdered Hand of the King, Jon Arryn. Lysa and Jon have a son, Robin, who is almost always by Lysa's side when we see her, and it's evident quickly that she indulges her son far too much...made no clearer than when we see her breast-feeding him despite the fact that, at 8 years old, he's clearly far too old for it. Tyrion Lannister and Catelyn Stark can only watch in horror as they observe the act, making it clear to all that Lysa Arryn is far from the sharpest knife in the drawer. Trivia: the actor who plays Robin, Lino Facioli, also played Aldous Snow's son Naples in Get Him to the Greek.

17. "A Crown For A King" (Season 1, Episode 6)

One of the more detestable characters throughout season one is Daenerys' brother Viserys, who plots early on to take back the Seven Kingdoms of which he believes himself to be the rightful ruler, requiring an army to do so. His plan meets its unexpectedly early end when he gets drunk and berates his sister, threatening to cut out her child unless the Dothraki gift him an army with which he can take the Kingdoms, but as you can expect, the Dothraki don't take this lying down. Khal Drogo promises Viserys a gold crown, throwing some jewelry into a cookery pot, quickly melting it and pouring the contents over Viserys' head, but not before uttering the iconic phrase, "A crown for a king". Viserys dies in agony, while Daenerys doesn't even flinch, claiming, "He was no dragon. Fire cannot kill a dragon."
