Happy Endings: 5 Reasons It Should Be Saved By Another Network

happyendingsmain Once a shining beacon of comedy on the American TV network ABC, Happy Endings - a modern sitcom about six friends (Zachary Knighton, Elisha Cuthbert, Damon Wayans, Casey Wilson, Adam Pally and Eliza Coupe), some lovers and some related - had garnered a cult following and a decent sized social media following. Unfortunately it was the latest victim to the March to May cull of shows on American show, cancelled after three years on the air. Fortunately it's still being shopped around to various networks in the hope of the show continuing on in some form, albeit in a different home away from ABC. Why all this interest in a single sitcom? Because it's something a little special, a cut above the vast majority of comedies out there. So, here are my top five reasons why Happy Endings should get rescued from the chopping block by another network and why one of the best comedies about there really should keep on producing...

5. The Cast Are Passionate About The Show

happyendings5 It's rare that you see a cast truly, truly passionate about the show they work on and love and care about - and while these are rare casts are usually confined to the darker dramas and serial shows on TV, it's incredibly awesome to see that stars like Casey Wilson (Penny), Damon Wayans (Brad), Elisha Cuthbert (Alex) and the gang are so stoked and enthused about just being on the show, their Twitter and social media presence keeping their enthusiasm for the show out for everyone to see. It would be an absolute shame to see them part ways for different shows ahead of their time, particularly with a dynamic as strong and engaging as theirs. More than that, their passion and desire for the show to continue is so palpable that I can't help but hope that executives might want to keep this passion for television flowing in whatever form it may take.
