4. It's Snarky
The comedy setpieces are fantastic, the pop-culture references are bountiful and the one-liners are as fresh and welcome as lemonade on a summer day.
Happy Endings are imbued with plenty of comedy nous and a fresh, sardonic take on the sitcom formula. A post-modern sitcom that isn't about pain or embarrassment (well largely). The barbs between the main cast are easily the most fun - Jane's perfectionist barbs match well against Max's bitchy platitudes and Brad's wry, dry observations. Plenty of points are scored with every episode and while there's no clear winner, there's plenty of banter fodder that should rightfully make its way onto every T-shirt in the land.
