It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Season 12: 10 Funniest Moments

2. Mac's "Exercise" Bike

Mac's repressed homosexuality has been a recurring theme throughout Sunny's long run. In the season twelve episode, Hero or Hate Crime?, he finally makes peace with this aspect of who he is, and comes out of the closet. However, since it is Sunny, of course he had to do it in the most crude, shocking way possible; with hysterical results.

While the gang is arguing to an arbitrator over who is the rightful owner of a lottery ticket, Mac's repressed feelings are brought to the forefront as the result of Frank's use of a homophobic slur. Dennis then takes it upon himself to help Mac come to terms with it, and has him bring his frequently used "exercise bike" to the law office.

As it turns out, the bike is equipped with a phallus that springs out of the seat when in use. This imagery is funny enough; but was really makes this a true gut-busting moment is when Mac actually gets on the bike to demonstrate, doing all he can to insist it's nothing more than an exercise technique.

This easily ranks as one of the single best moments of the entire season. Not only for its shameless nature; but also because the acting of everyone in the scene is perfect, both verbal and nonverbal. Not to mention that this is another prime example of Rob McElhenney's spot-on delivery really bringing a scene together.
