3. Charlie Watches Too Much Wrestling

While Frank's escapades were a highlight of Making Dennis Reynolds A Murder, nothing quite compares to what Charlie was getting up to in this episode.

In another recorded phone call, we hear Dennis contacting Charlie in order to get his alibi straight. Unbeknownst to Dennis, however, Charlie is in the middle of watching professional wrestling while completely off his face on cat tranquilizers; and is not paying even the slightest bit of attention. Dennis does his best to reason with him and asks him to turn the television off, to which Charlie responds by simply turning the volume off, then blatantly admits to this when Dennis asks him about it. The sheer confusion and uncomfortable silences, and non sequiturs in this exchange are done perfectly and are worth a chuckle or two.

To make matters worse, however, we then see Charlie, who is still clearly on another plane of existence, being interviewed by the police chief. When asked if he knows how Dennis allegedly killed his ex-wife, Charlie responds with "he gave her a piledriver." He then goes on to suggest that he aided in the killing by listing off several other wrestling moves he claims he can do. As one would imagine, the chief did not take kindly to this comically useless interview; and his blind rage mixed with Charlie's drugged-up apathy make for a hilarious interaction.
