I love Joss Whedon, it really is true. Anyone who has read any of my previous posts will probably already know this fact because his name pretty much comes up in almost every article I write. Joss Whedon is, and has been (way before this whole Avengers thing took of) my favorite show runner and arguably creative genius of all time. There is no other celebrity in the world who has had more of an impact on my life.
His hit TV show Buffy The Vampire Slayer is my favorite show and arguably thing of all time. I used to watch the show as a kid, and even to this day about 10 years since it aired I still regally watch the odd couple of episodes. I credit that show, and Whedon himself for my passions as an adult. Buffy The Vampire Slayer made me love great fictional TV shows, which in turn made me have a great love of movies and those two things are the reason why I recently completed a degree in screenwriting and dream of one day working on a television show. Joss Whedon has changed my life.
Recently I wrote an article for WhatCulture comparing Whedon’s The Avengers with one my favorite superhero movies of all time, Spider-Man 2. Though I love The Avengers, I angered a lot of people, and probably a lot of Whedon fans. But I am one of you, and I don’t blame Whedon for the mistakes of the movie… he had a mammoth task to complete and pulled it off better than many experienced film makers would have.
To confirm to you my love of Joss Whedon, and to explain to you all the reasons you should love him too (if you don’t already) I have compiled a list, A-Z, of Whedon’s awesome qualities and contributions to the world. This list contains everything you need to know about this great TV and Film writer and director, and it’s worth a read just to see how I tackle the more difficult letters without cheating at all. Here goes, my love letter to Whedon, starting with A.

Yes, Yes and even more Yes.
Buffy was the greatest show to ever air. It changed Cult TV
How could you not include wesley wyndam-price next willow they are married to eachother in real life and you said that willow had the biggest transformation however is think its wesley (next to winifred burkle aka illyria)
Yes… Wesley’s transformation is pretty major too, on the same level as Willow. I wouldn’t say Fred changed all that much because Illyria technically isn’t Fred. The reason I went for Willow over Wesley is because I prefer her character as do most people, however you are right, I could have put them together under W.
Thanks for reading.
An all-around great list! While I agree that “Buffy” has been the greatest show (yet) to air — I disagree with Ed above on one thing. It did not change “cult TV.” It changed ALL TV. :)
I agree, it definitely did change all of TV for the better. Thanks for reading and liking the list.
J = Jayne; the man they call JAYNE!
Oh yes, I actually overlooked that one. Having said that, although a lot of people love that character, he was never my favorite so I probably wouldn’t have included him any way. If Firefly had continued, I am sure he would have grown into a fantastic character, but as it is, he was merely great.

Loved all of this (yellow crayon is adorable), but where is “Cabin in the Woods” on here!? I actually found that to be better than “The Avengers”. And I LOVED “The Avengers”!
You are completely right. I completely missed out that one didn’t I. Pretend I said it?
Thanks for reading and loving this… and I am glad you get the yellow crayon reference. :)
Whedon also discovered my favorite actress, Summer Glau :-)
Indeed he did, and yes she is wonderful isn’t she. I did mention he briefly in the F is for Firefly section (although I realize she was originally in an episode of Angel). Thanks for reading.
