Russian Doll: 7 Big Questions We're Left With

Are Nadia and Alan still dead?

Russian Doll Questions
Netflix

Russian Doll has been a huge hit since its February 1st release on Netflix. The series follows software engineer Nadia Vulvokov (Natasha Lyonne) who gets hit by a car on her 36th birthday.

Whilst the car accident is fatal for Nadia, her time on screen is far from over. Nadia finds herself caught in a time loop and reliving her 36th birthday party over and over again.

Halfway through the series, we’re introduced to Alan, who is going through the exact same thing, and together the pair figure out what the hell is going on and try to put an end to their hellish Groundhog Day.

As the final episode drew to a close, viewers are still left with many big questions that remain unanswered. And on top of that, the ending might not be what it seems...

7. Are Nadia And Alan Still Dead?

Russian Doll Questions
Netflix

Nadia got hit by a car and died on her birthday at the exact same time Alan took his own life. They both keep waking up unharmed, destined to repeat the same day over and over again.

Once they cross paths, they figure out that they were supposed to save each other’s lives. Once they do this, the ending seems to suggest that the time loop is broken – but is that actually the case?

The ending doesn’t give us a solid answer. If they really were successful, does this mean they’re alive or are they still dead? Did they just have to learn a lesson and now get to move on to a final afterlife?
