Star Trek Enterprise: What Would Have Happened In Season 5

Enterprise-crew-star-trek-enterprise-548970_1024_768 Recently I wrote an article about episodes of Star Trek that never made it to the screen. Two major sources of potential plots and episodes are for the two cancelled series €“ The Original Series and Enterprise. You see, both of them were already in the stages of planning for the following seasons and so we know some of what was intended. The Original Series was a little more random as Gene Roddenberry was no longer involved and they had a tendency not to follow up on earlier episodes. However, with Enterprise, Manny Coto had taken over at the start of season four and had big plans in the pipeline for season five. These were already on the drawing board, as the series didn't get cancelled until fairly near the end of season three. It was only while the cast and crew were filming the second half of In a Mirror, Darkly, that the news came through that Enterprise was cancelled. This meant that they had just two episodes before the final episode was due to be filmed. Discussions were already well underway about what the plans were for season five. In fact, considering this you have to wonder what they were originally planning for the end of season four €“ I'm not sure that Coto and co have ever been specific about what would have closed off the season. It probably would have been one of the ideas they've since talked about for season five. If you thought that the changes to season three were drastic, and then the changes in season four with the format was major, then season five might still yet have surprised you. One episode that I could discuss here is the return of the Kzinti from The Animated Series in the planned episode Kilkenny Cats €“ but seeing as I already discussed it in the article linked above I won't go repeating myself. You'll just have to click above to see it! So this is what I know about season five of Enterprise. As always, leave comments with any further things or speculation about where they might have taken things!
