3. The Saviors
At long last, the Saviors finally arrived halfway through the sixth season, only to spend each passing episode being wrecked by the group. From the motorcycle gang being blown up by Daryl's rocket launcher to the outpost group being slaughtered in their sleep to Paula's group facing the wrath of Carol and Maggie, the "wins" being racked up by Rick and the gang seemed destined to come back around to bite them in a big way.
By the season finale, the group's overconfidence finally became their undoing, as Dwight had killed Denise and shot Daryl, various members had been captured, and the RV gang found themselves constantly outsmarted by an ever-increasing group of Saviors acting as roadblocks.
The final minutes of the season saw the group realizing just how outnumbered they are before finally coming face to face with Negan and Lucille. It was a staggering moment of hopeless for the group, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan's performance was solid, but unfortunately it was overshadowed by an agonizing cliffhanger ending that robbed the scene of its power by postponing a defining moment that could've bumped the Saviors' position on this list a bit higher.
