6. The Starting Point
While The Walking Dead began with a bang when Rick Grimes woke up in the hospital (albeit after a short, sharp prologue) with the world already over-run by zombies and humanity mostly pushed to the shadows, Cobalt won't be as far progressed down the line. The leaked script suggests that the pilot takes place before the infection takes place, as initially suspected. California is still as it was before the breakout, with "real life" and real dreams continuing to breed thanks to hope and the comfortable swaths of ignorance. In that regard, this is clearly going to be a more traditional "zombie movie" format: the walkers won't be known to exist, and tantalisingly that should mean that there will be ample opportunity for even more suspense and scares.
