5 Main Card Predictions For Bellator 131

Tito Ortiz is back, against a returning Stephan Bonnar.

The same night the Ultimate Fighting Championship hosts UFC 180 in Mexico City, Mexico - a card plagued by injuries that saw one big fight lost entirely, and the promotion's heavyweight champion removed from the event - Bellator MMA offers a big night of action of their own, live on free TV on Spike in the US and on 5* (5 Star) in the UK. It's the final event of the year for Bellator, and they've pulled out all the stops, hosting a ton of fight week events featuring MMA legends like Randy Couture and Royce Gracie, and stacking the free card with big names - though they might be the big names of yesteryear, to be fair. Yes, Tito Ortiz, the former UFC light heavyweight champion of questionable relevance headlines the card. On the plus side, he's coming off a win for the first time in years. On the down side, it was over a small middleweight, albeit Bellator's middleweight champ, who was fighting up in weight and would go on to lose the belt. So Ortiz's "comeback" is still very much a work in progress. Meeting him in the Bellator cage is Stephan Bonnar, a fellow UFC Hall of Famer, who has not fought since 2012, a disastrous loss to Anderson Silva that saw him popped for steroids adding insult to injury. Bonnar and Ortiz are familiar names to Spike fans however. They're fighters who had their hey-days when the UFC called Spike TV home. Now Bellator resides on the cable network, and the promotion is likely hoping that a little nostalgia goes a long way. King Mo, home grown talents Michael Chandler and Will Brooks, Melvin Manhoeff, and popular UFC cast-off Nam Phan also appear on the card. Pay for UFC 180? Watch this for free? Juggle both? The decision is yours - but here are our predictions for Bellator 131's main card!
