5 Main Card Predictions For UFC 175

UFC 175 looks to be the most stacked card so far this year, and it's time again to look ahead and try to puzzle out who brings home a win bonus.

UFC 175 With two title fights, a heavyweight tilt that marks the return of Stephen Struve, and the return of the much-hyped Uriah Hall, UFC 175 promises to deliver - at least on paper. Even the loss of Chael Sonnen vs. Wanderlei Silva/Vitor Belfort hasn't dulled the anticipation for the event (well, not too much), and the UFC has to be hoping that it will make bank when it comes time to order the fight, given the tepid performance of recent PPVs. The promotion goes big every July, and there's a lot on the line with this card. For starters, you have Ronda Rousey, one of the biggest draws in MMA right now, defending her belt against Canadian Alexis Davis, perhaps the last legitimate contender signed by the UFC who's actually ready for a title shot (the other immediate candidate would be Cat Zingano, but after injuring her knee and the death of her husband, she will need some time and perhaps a tune-up fight before she's due back). Then there's the main event: Chris Weidman, defending his belt for the first time against someone not named Anderson Silva. One has to wonder if the UFC is concerned about his drawing power and is protecting him by having him headline a card that already has Rousey, who can draw 350,000 to 400,000 or so PPV buys on her own. If Weidman wins, definitively, he will cement his status as a great middleweight. Should challenger Lyoto Machida, who has looked great since dropping down to middleweight, take the title however, all hell may break loose in the 185lb division. This bout is probably the most meaningful bout you'll see til we hit Jones vs. Gustafsson 2. It's the biggest of the year thus far. It should also be noted that the following day sees the airing of the Ultimate Fighter 19 finale, so it's going to be a busy weekend in MMA this coming July! Now lets take a look at the main card of UFC 175, with 5 main card predictions!
