5. Marcus Brimage vs. Russell Doane

Or how about another Uriah, okay Urijah, on the card, in this case Faber? Well, Faber has been given the headlining spot on the preliminary card to get people to order the PPV, and ever the company man, Faber will sell the show without complaint. We know what the better fight would have been on the main card though, don't we? Marcus Brimage (6-2) competed on TUF 14: Team Bisping vs Team Miller. I watched that season, and I can't remember Brimage nor what team he was on. The season culminated in a lopsided coaches fight, but produced a couple of bona fide UFC stars in John Dodson and bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw, and a number of decent fighters who are still in the UFC today: Diego Brandão, Louis Gaudinot, Johnny Bedford, Dennis Bermudez, Bryan Caraway, Roland Delorme, Steven Siler, Akira Corassani... I remember every singe one of those fighters, but not Brimage. Brimage's last fight came over a year ago, a TKO loss to Irish superstar Conor McGregor. Coming off a loss, he finds himself paired up against Russell Doane (13-3), the former Tachi Palace Fights bantamweight champion. Doane is 1-0 in the UFC, and including the Tachi Palace Fights belt, he has held 5 bantamweight championships in five smaller MMA promotions. In other words, Doane is a pretty hot prospect coming into the UFC. Look for him to build on his first win, and take this fight via TKO in the second.
