10 Absolute Worst Matches In The History Of WrestleMania

6. The Undertaker Vs. The Big Boss Man - WrestleMania XV

Prior to WrestleMania XV, there had been two Hell In A Cell matches.

The first, at In Your House: Badd Blood, redefined the steel cage match. The second, at King Of The Ring 1998, redefined the very essence of pro wrestling. Debate still roars on about the extent to which real violence should be used in a predetermined environment.

The third, at WrestleMania XV, was a complete bore, one rendered even worse by comparison. Michael Cole even referred to Foley's suicidal stunt show as 'Taker laid into Boss Man with punches in the early going, but it became very apparent that the match wasn't going to follow such a daring structure. The match did attempt to tell something approaching a story. Boss Man cuffed 'Taker to the Cell wall in effectively the only usage of it, but the handcuffs dislodged after two thwacks of the truncheon. Such basic weapon shots and an almost polite ("your turn!") exchange of punches and kicks comprised the majority of its content.

The finish was somehow worse than the match itself. The Brood faction of Edge, Christian and Gangrel descended from the ceiling and on top of the Cell (Gangrel nearly fell over the side) and assisted 'Taker in "hanging" the Boss Man.

"Is this symbolic?!" screeched Michael Cole on commentary. No. It was bloody stupid.
