Jeff Hardy and Umaga had great chemistry, and in actual fact you could argue that they were made for each other. Umaga excelled when he had a smaller man he could throw around like a rag doll, and Hardy was at his best when cosplaying as a rag doll. In professional wrestling, two plus two very often equals four.

It is unlikely that the Rainbow-Haired Warrior and the Samoan Bulldozer were capable of counting so high at the climax of this brutal steel cage match on RAW in 2008, however. Hardy was on his way to the top of the card at the time, with his then-nemesis Randy Orton sat outside the ring keeping a close eye on his foe.

Steel cage matches on RAW are a rare thing, and if a list of the best ones were being made this would for sure feature. Hardy picked up the win via pinfall (which is exactly how such matches should end) after a crazy Whisper in the Wind from the top of the structure, and shared a delightful stare-down with the Viper after the match.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
