10 Best Wrestling Tournaments Ever

Bust out your favorite pro wrestling brackets...March Madness just started early.

A world title. A championship opportunity. The special designation of €œking.€ A cool looking trophy. Whatever the prize is at the end of a wrestling tournament, it doesn€™t really matter too much in the grand scheme of things. What does matter is that a whole slew of grapplers will be put in brackets and pitted against each other creating a number of interesting matchups and possibilities. You name a top legend in the business and that person has probably won a major tournament at some point in their career. Sting, Triple H, Bret Hart, The Rock,Randy Savage, The Road Warriors, Steve Austin and Chris Jericho are just a few of the icons who have a major tournament victory to their list of career accomplishments. Sometimes these tournaments don€™t deliver and we end up with less than desirable matches and winners. (King Mabel anyone?) Yet, when a tournament DOES succeed in not only creating real excitement but also delivers with exceptional matches€that makes for a very memorable event in wrestling history. Honorable Mentions:King of the Ring €™96 €“ Stone Cold-mania officially takes over WWE as Steve Austin runs through this bracket highlighted by a semi-final match win over former rival, Marc Mero. Crockett Cup €™86 €“ The Road Warriors take on all comers as they win the initial Crockett Cup tournament which would be an annual event for the NWA promotion over the next three years. Smackdown Tag Team Tourney €™02 €“ Rivals, Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle team up to go undefeated in the tag team title tournament bracket to win the initial Smackdown Tag Titles by defeating Edge/Mysterio in the finals. Yet, starting off the list at number ten comes the second edition of one of the best known tournaments in wrestling history€
