10 Best WWE Matches Of 2018 (So Far)

9. Asuka Vs. Charlotte Flair (WrestleMania 34)

WWE

This match will likely be remembered primarily for its controversial outcome, as Charlotte Flair upset Asuka to successfully defend her SmackDown Women's Championship and hand 'The Empress Of Tomorrow' her first true WWE loss. Whether or not this was the right move is debatable, but what's lost in the conversation is that the action leading up to the finish was tremendous, and one of the division's better offerings since the Women's Revolution kicked in a few years ago.

It was franchise player vs. undefeated force of nature at WrestleMania 34. This alone guaranteed a big fight feel, and the suspense was only amplified as two of WWE's absolute best wrestlers went all-out to ensure Asuka's first loss would be a memorable one.

Nasty bumps are a given in this division, but there were some nice submission exchanges as well, and Charlotte's arm selling on her own Figure Eight made for a great finish. The conclusion was problematic, though. Flair had barely worked Asuka's legs throughout the match, but 'The Empress' tapped to Charlotte's finisher without much of a fight. A deflating moment, but not enough to sully the bout completely.
