10 Big Decisions WWE Must Make In 2018

Decisions, decisions...

Making decisions that directly affect the bottom line of an industry-leading, multi-million dollar corporation is an unenviable task, especially if you have to answer to Vince McMahon.

But, for a group of men and women collectively known as the WWE creative team, that's the every-day reality of their lives - and, by the end of 2018, they will certainly have earned their money. Like no other in recent history, this year looks - on paper - like it could be a hugely important one in the tumultuous life-span of professional wrestling's number one promotion. So many of the company's biggest or most heavily invested-in projects currently appear to stand at a cliff edge, requiring either a gentle push towards safety or, well, a hard shove the other way.

The good news is that WWE is nothing if not ruthless: the experienced heads that make up its hierarchy have been around long enough to know what works and what doesn't, even if they can sometimes seem almost comically set in their ways.

For better or worse, if big decisions need to be made, they will be.

10. Asuka's Streak

Asuka made the whole of the Raw Women's division sit up and pay attention late last year when she took her long-awaited first main roster steps with the record-setting undefeated streak she spent the best part of two years building up very much intact.

With 50-50 booking now in vogue, however, it seems unlikely that the Empress of Tomorrow will go through the next 12 months without suffering defeat - which means the WWE creative team have a big decision to make when it comes to how - and when - to end it.

Alexa Bliss, holder of the title Asuka is gunning for, currently seems the most likely conqueror, but pursuing this end comes with potential pitfalls. Through no fault of her own, Bliss' recent feuds have had an unfortunate habit of making her look great and her opponents poor by comparison.

What's clear is that the company can't afford a repeat of the climax of Charlotte's pay-per-view winning streak last year, where Bayley's potentially career-making victory was wasted on an episode of Raw, despite being just a few weeks off WrestleMania.

If you want us to care, you need proper build.
