10 Big Decisions WWE Must Make In 2018

9. The Future Of The Shield

After spending most of the last three years getting booed, Roman Reigns was finally allowed some respite in October after deciding, along with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, that it was high time they got the band back together.

One triceps tear later, however, and The Big Dog's new-found popularity suddenly looks more precarious than ever. Even if we factor in the high probability that WWE has somewhat exaggerated the extent of Ambrose's injury, the likelihood is out that he's out of 'Mania.

When he comes back, WWE has a big decision to make. Do they keep the trio together, maximising the chances that the soon-to-be Universal Champion retains the support of the crowd? Alternatively, is there money to be made in re-hashing The Shield implosion storyline that dominated 2014?

Option one is plainly better for Roman himself, but it probably means sidelining his two accomplices, who will be left unable to fight for Raw's biggest prize until such time as it is removed from his person.

Relative to wrestling, it's a huge dilemma, and may hinge on The Lunatic Fringe's recovery time.
