10 Brutal Realisations About WWE Network's Holy Foley!

4. Blatant Nepotism Is Ignored

Mick Noelle Foley
WWE Network

Not only is nepotism rampant in the production of Holy Foley! but it is almost treated as if it was honourable.

First off, as previously discussed, Noelle Foley is clearly positioned as the focal point of the show with WWE hoping their fanbase will invest into watching and supporting her development on path to one day becoming a WWE superstar. In other words, WWE hopes to create a new star in Noelle and Holy Foley! is the first step to achieving that goal.

But the reality is Noelle would never have been given this opportunity had it not been for her father, and she's not the only one to benefit from having the last name of Foley.

As previously documented, audiences are expected to believe that Mick's oldest child, Dewey, after lacking the appropriate education or experience and seemingly unmotivated to begin life as an adult was suddenly able to land a job as a WWE writer's assistant all on his own, behind his father's back even. Please.

The underlying nepotism that exists in the show's fundamental existence is unsettling for one, but to then egregiously ignore it as part of the show's storylines while hiding behind a veil is even more unfortunate. Call it what it is and own it, at least.

Pro-wrestling isn't the only industry in which nepotism is an unfortunate reality, but it's put on display something fierce with Holy Foley!
