10 Characters WWE Gave Up On Way Too Soon

8. Mordecai

WWE fans who lived through Mordecai's match against Scotty 2 Hotty at Judgment Day 2004 are probably wondering why he's here. It was an awkward pay-per-view debut to say the least, but it was also just the beginning. Mordecai didn't hit a home run, but he deserved another chance. He'd never get one.

Described as a 'white' Undertaker (a character who lambasted fans for their sins rather than embracing his inner darkness), the gimmick was supposed to lead to a feud with 'The Deadman'. Why WWE didn't give that a shot, we'll never know. 'Taker had just returned to playing his old-school gimmick, so he needed fresh opponents.

It's not as though WWE had anything awesome in mind for Undertaker either. His feud over the summer with The Dudley Boyz was awful, and there's a case to be made that throwing Mordecai in as a sacrificial lamb for the reborn 'Taker would've been better.
