10 Most Decorated Wrestling World Champions

If you wanna BE the man, you have to BEAT the man.

Wrestling Titles and Championships have been an integral part of the sport since its very conception. That piece of metal on leather means that a wrestler is the very best, he's the number one guy, he's who everyone else is trying to beat. As more knowledge about the booking process of wrestling became public, we now know that the holder of the sacred belt isn't necessarily the best athlete, wrestler or performer - he is merely who the booker told to win it. Nevertheless, World Championships still mean a lot to both fans, companies and the wrestling world. At first, it was common for a wrestler to hold the title for years without dropping the belt. As wrestling edged closer and closer to the 21st century - it became more and more common for major title changes to occur after a few months, after a few weeks, and in rare cases belts were dropped after a few days. As this practice became common, the best World Champions of wrestling history became distinguished not by which titles they had held, but by the frequency and length of their runs with wrestling's most prestigious slabs of metal. In celebration of these titans of the industry, we're taking a look at the ten most decorated World Champions of wrestling history. We're only considering major World Titles exclusively, these are; the WWE Championship (named as such to avoid confusion), the World Heavyweight Championship, the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, the ECW World Heavyweight Championship, the NWA World Heavyweight Championship and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
