In 2004 the world was Randy Orton’s oyster. A 3rd generation superstar, loaded with the it factor, all he needed was a formidable opponent to help him. Enter Mick Foley. On June 23rd, Evolution beat down Mick Foley and kicked him down the stairs.

Months later Mick Foley walked out on a match against Randy Orton and backstage Orton called Foley a coward and spit in his face. Foley then eliminated Orton in the Rumble, which set up a 2 on 3 Handicap match between Evolution and The Rock n’ Sock Connection at Wrestlemania 20, which the former won.

Mick Foley finally got the one on one match he desired with Orton. The match was a bloodbath with both men destroying each other. The match included barbed wire baseball bats, thumbtacks and an elbow drop off of the stage. After all of this Randy kept kicking out and Orton hit the RKO on the barbed wire baseball bat, ending the brutal match after nearly 25 minutes.

After this match Orton stopped being a legend killer and became a legend. He has won 12 World Titles and has been called one of the greatest wrestlers of his generation.
