You may recall seeing World Heavyweight Champion Batista at Survivor Series 2005, all taped up like a makeshift mummy. The injury was attributed to vicious storyline attacks from Raw's Big Show and Kane, and it turned out that the monstrous duo actually did cause Batista a serious injury.

At the 8 November SmackDown tapings, during a Raw siege of the blue brand, Kane and Big Show chokeslammed Batista so hard that he tore a lat muscle. The injury was hard to totally disguise, so rightly attributing it to Kane and Big Show at least aided the angle.

Batista was to suffer worse injury luck in early 2006 when he tore his right triceps in a match with Mark Henry. Since the now-deposed champion was going to be out for six months, Batista had plenty of time to mend the prior injury as well.
