By its second season, NXT was virtually a joke and dead in the water, but that didn't stop them from trying to find "WWE's next breakout star." Among the competitors that installment was Lucky Cannon, who appeared to have all the tools necessary to make it in WWE.

Well, as it turned out, he didn't, and that was apparent whenever he started speaking or wrestled a match. In addition to being a mediocre wrestler, his happy-go-lucky persona was the absolute worst. He was constantly booed as a babyface, and when he tried flipping the switch later in the season, fans couldn't buy him as a heel because he couldn't cut a promo to save his life.

Alas, this was the same guy who went on to hold the FCW Heavyweight Championship a short while later. They gave him a second chance to shine during the "redemption" season of NXT in early 2011, but his tacky robe and arrogant character didn't pan out at all.

Technically, NXT wasn't considered part of the main roster at the time, but it was certainly a step above FCW as it scored him a substantial amount of television time.
