10 Funniest Wrestling Moments Of 2018

9. Chris Jericho's Heel Awesomeness

Chris Jericho renewed his career, with some irony, by repackaging himself in New Japan as this awesome, belligerent old f*ck with precious few of them left to give.

Throughout a content/banter seesaw of a thriller with Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 12, Jericho revelled in being awful. Brutalising Kenny Omega, flipping off the crowd in a literally picture-perfect spot of heel psychology, Jericho in quasi-racism mode also produced fits of involuntary laughter by mocking, with very dubious cadence, their supporting cries of "Kennnnyyyyyyy!"

Unleashed from WWE's PG confines, Jericho also developed a new catchphrase: "F*ckface".

This was an excellent choice, for reasons both phonoaesthetic and character-driven. "F*ckface" just sounds like an incredible insult, but it's not one you nor I could get away with. Try saying it the next time you're bantering with your pals, if indeed you have any. It makes you look a bit of a t*t. There's a sort of '80s jock quality to it, which served Jericho's Darkside Bon Jovi shtick wonderfully. Jericho delivered further deadpans to generate further pops by referring to Tetsuya Naito as a "f*cking moron" in a video in which he also terrorised a turtle.

Producing better patter than even 'The List', Jericho was at his surly best in 2018.
