10 Harsh Truths Vince McMahon Needs To Understand About WWE Network

What WWE's employees should actually be telling their boss rather than sugar-coating it.

It's too early to call WWE Network a failure, but it can't be called a success either. Right now it's in a tough spot after all the excitement that surrounded it during the February launch yet the number of people that have signed up for it has been disappointing. The stock price went from a high of $31 down to $11 within a couple of months. That's because stock market analysts believed Vince McMahon when he said the TV rights fees would double and the Network would be the spark that WWE needed. It didn't happen even though rights fees did go up. When WWE held a conference call this past Monday, Vince's connection was disconnected momentarily or so he thought. He uttered the word "s**t" for everybody to hear. It shouldn't be a big deal, but it was a telling sign because if Vince was really happy with things he wouldn't be cursing simply because of a phone line disconnection. The WWE Network is a long term project that is still in its infant stage. At this time next year they'll likely make the Network available in dozens of countries instead of just America. It could be a profitable venture within three or four years. There's really no way of knowing, but as wrestling fans we should hope for the best. It's not all on Vince McMahon, but as the Chairman of the company it is his responsibility to oversee all of it. Here are ten things that Vince needs to understand about his Network, how his consumers view it and what can be done to improve it.
