It's been worth tracing back through the rich history of Stomping Grounds over the years in order to inform these particular predictions. Over the years, there's been mat classics, bloody wars and title changes - it's a been the final destination for some of the company's crucial encounters.
Or at least, you'd think that based on how comfortable the roster have been talking about "kicking *ss and taking names" like they've all been doing it every June for the past decade.
It's an old WWE trick - invent a concept out of thick air and expect the world to catch up if you put it over enough. Stomping Grounds was just that - the name was instantly derided because it's f*cking crap, the multiple logos developed a pungent Great Balls Of Fire stink (sans cheese, at least) especially in the likely event that it too never ever happens again.
It's a card that looks inconvenient thanks to the Saudi Arabian Super ShowDown two weeks earlier. The dreaded rematches have returned thanks to the schedule pile-up, and even most of the first-run contests feel a little vacant, stakes-wise. Expectations are low and...sh*t...will Stomping Grounds kick *ss and take names after all?!
10. Tony Nese (c) Vs. Akira Tozawa Vs. Drew Gulak
The June 12th 2019 edition of 205 Live was the sort of episode that served as a reminder of why the Cruiserweight show was relaunched three years earlier - a high-octane show bookended by two incredible outings and surprisingly good segments in between.
The Stomping Grounds go-home edition wasn't nearly as dynamic, but may have managed to bump Tony Nese's triple threat title match off the kickoff show for yet another pay-per-view.
To this end, Nese is carrying on the legacy of former Champion Buddy Murphy. The former 'Best Kept Secret' is now the worst version of his former self trapped in limbo on the main roster, whilst new titleholder Nese will aim to steal the show with former champion Akira Tozawa and dark ages survivor Drew Gulak.
A firecracker of a Fatal Four Way crafted the contenders and was one of the best 205 Live Matches of the year - the trio will look to top that in front of a far bigger audience after a disappointing display between Nese and Ariya Daivari at Money In The Bank. The champion retaining frees him up for what could hopefully be a tantalising programme with Chad Gable too.
Tozawa and Gulak are game, but will always be slightly damaged goods.
