Chief Don Eagle was a Mohawk Native American who excelled in professional wrestling during the 1950s and 1960s, capturing the AWA Boston World Championship. Don Eagle wowed audiences with his amazing technical nous and people would flock to arenas to witness him escaping from and reversing any hold his opponent placed on him. He also had stellar matches against the likes of Lou Thez and Buddy Rogers. It is believed that Don Eagle helped influence other wrestlers of Native American ilk to take up sports entertainment, including Chief Jay Strongbow and Tatanka. And thanks to the Chief, people today still refer to his trademark Mohawk hairstyle as a "Don Eagle" haircut. Now thats what you call leaving a legacy!
