10 Infamous Wrestling Mohawks

3. One Man Gang

The One Man Gang ran roughshod through the then-WWF roster in 1987. Immediately ending the in-ring career of legendary WWE Hall of Famer €œSuperstar€ Billy Graham, he rampaged through the company €“ injuring officials and other wrestlers as he sought to become the most feared competitor in the company. And he did it all with his trademark Mohawk. Gang and his Mohawk earned high-profile matches against the likes of Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage, while he was also part of the first-ever Survivor Series pay-per-view as a member of André the Giant's team against Hulk Hogan and his band of heroes. He was also involved in the inaugural Royal Rumble match, entering the fray 19th out of 20 men, but was eliminated by winner Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Unfortunately, like so many good characters, One Man Gang and his trusty Mohawk were written out of WWE storylines in September 1988 with his manager Slick promising the fans and a bemused looking €œMean€ Gene Okerlund that a change was coming. In what is surely one of the most bizarre moments in WWE history, the world bore witness to a bunch of tribal dancers gyrating about in an alley around a burning rubbish bin before a burst of flame revealed a Mohawk-less One Man Gang wearing a bright yellow shirt adorned with African patterns and a huge kufi hat. While One Man Gang was an awesome character, Akeem the €˜African Dream€™ played more into the cartoonish direction the company was heading in at that time.
