WWE often posts videos to YouTube mangled beyond their original form.

They largely do this to mute the negativity directed at Roman Reigns on any given episode of RAW - even though they apparently don't care about that, as long as he generates any kind of reaction - but this isn't a new phenomenon for a company keen on revising pro wrestling history to their own whims.

Rebellion 1999 was a UK-exclusive pay-per-view held on October 2 - at which the British Bulldog became flustered and threw a garbage can at the wall. Unfortunately for him - but fortunately for anybody who hates the modern day Stephanie McMahon character, and would go so far as to time travel to see her receive her comeuppance - his trajectory was off. He absolutely brained the 'Billion Dollar Princess'. This incensed Vince McMahon, so he marched to ringside after the main event and locked the interfering Bulldog in a steel cage with The Rock. After he twisted the key, he flipped Bulldog the double bird and very loudly screamed "F*ck you!" in his face. This didn't make it past WWE Network editors.

The muting confirms that WWE doesn't want it known that McMahon swore on a little-seen novelty PPV eighteen years ago. Everybody else under his employ? For some reason, that's okay.

WCW, famously, was a mismanaged shambles well before Vince Russo overtook the asylum. They couldn't even time their pay-per-views properly, so it's little wonder that they were not versed in the dark arts of, erm, quickly instructing a production staffer to cut away from the scene of a crime.

At SuperBrawl 2000, Tank Abbott defeated Big Al in a Leather Jacket On A Pole match because Vince Russo promoted it. Abbott pulled down the jacket, decided against wearing it when he couldn't get it on, removed a knife from one of the pockets and stood over what very nearly was Al's carcass. Even though what was happening was completely self-evident, Tony Schiavone claimed ignorance as Abbott held the knife to his throat. WWE Network staffers must also be blind (and deaf); this debacles airs unedited - even Abbott's insistence that he is going to "f*cking kill" his defeated opponent.

This was an intentional murder attempt, as opposed to the manslaughter of the finish, which saw Abbott carelessly drop Al on his head from the top turnbuckle. The most insane element of an insane angle is that Tony Schiavone et al. don't even bother to sell it. A former legitimate combat athlete wields a massive knife and threatens to use it - and they react as if they're watching Vampiro apply a chinlock. Mark Madden seemed genuinely concerned, actually, but godd*mn Schiavone. He must have totally checked out at this point.

"I think that was maybe a pair of scissors, and he was gonna cut off his beard or something there." Big Al did not wear a beard.

Obviously, in Vince Russo's WCW, the left hand had no clue what the right hand was doing. Swerve!
