10 Most Bizarre Wrestling Matches Of All Time

Pensioners in lingerie, blatant sexism and turkeys on a pole...

By the very nature of the industry, pro wrestling is unashamedly bizarre. Think about one of the top names in the history of the medium, The Undertaker, as a prime example. Once an undead zombie, he later became an infernal overlord and then a tough-guy biker with a tattoo of his real-life then-wife proudly displayed on his throat.

To be a wrestling fan, you have to leave at least some notion of taking things too seriously at the door. On occasion though, there are those matches that are booked which take things to the extreme. Not necessarily in a hardcore way, simply in the sense that things have become so outlandish that it's hard to describe them any other way.

This list alone features a war between father and daughter, men fighting over a turkey, men fighting over someone's own mother, electrocution and even dogs humping around ringside.

Without doubt, these are some of the most wacky matches of all time. Let's dive in and see what treats await in the pages of wrestling history. You won't believe your eyes...

10. King Of The Road Match (WCW Uncensored 1995)

Starting things out with a bang, one of WCW's most original match concepts of all time actually ended with both wrestlers being canned by the promotion. Any stalwart of the company will tell you that the Uncensored pay-per-view was routinely one of the most unusual, and the 1995 incarnation was no different.

On a card also featuring a 'Wrestler vs. Boxer' bout, Martial Arts style matches and a Leather Strap Match, the 'King Of The Road' affair stole the show. On the back of a flat bed truck, The Blacktop Bully and Dustin Rhodes hammered one another in something akin to a cheesy action movie fight sequence.

Inside a cage structure, Rhodes and the Bully even bled, a strict no-no in WCW at the time. Consequently, they were both released from contract, even though later claiming they were instructed that claret wouldn't be a problem.

Lord knows what must have been going through the truck driver's mind as he gently ambled through the countryside, knowing two pro wrestlers were attempting to construct a match behind him.
