10 Most Under-Rated Steve Austin Matches Nobody Talks About

1. Vs. Dustin Rhodes (WCW Starrcade 1993)

Another of Steve Austin's WCW highlights came in the promotion's biggest show of the year. At Starrcade 1993, Austin faced Dustin Rhodes in a 2-Out-Of-3-Falls Match for the WCW United States Title. Going into the bout, Rhodes held the belt, but the end result would go against what many people feel 2-Out-Of-3-Fall encounters are all about. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x181eov_dustin-rhodes-vs-stunning-steve-austin-2-3-falls-us-title_sport Winning 2 straight falls, Austin grabbed the title and looked like a genuine bad-ass in the process. Regardless of the one-sided nature of the decisions, the action is hot and heavy. At this point in his career, Rhodes was on fire, and it's difficult to see why he didn't become a bigger star in WCW before being snatched away by the WWF in the mid-90's and turned into Goldust. It's also disappointing that there wasn't a proper Goldust vs. 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin feud in the WWF during the 'Attitude Era'. On the evidence of this match, it would have been something special. Both guys exhibit excellent chemistry with one another, making it easy for the fans to get invested in what's happening.
