10 Most Universally Respected Wrestlers Ever

6. The Big Boss Man

Another Hall of Famer, The Big Boss Man's career wasn't exactly full of respect. Wrestling's favourite correctional facility officer famously once kidnapped Al Snow's dog, and subsequently lured Snow up to a hotel room to eat said dog. That is not the behaviour of a man who cares about respect.

He also showed no respect to Big Show with regards to his deceased father. Boss Man went a step further, writing a particularly harsh poem and then interrupting the funeral. Again, not exactly a man full to the brim with respect.

In the real world however, the late Ray Traylor was one of the most respected individuals in the game. The Boss Man was one of those rare beasts that seemed to elicit only positive words from his peers, a hard-working family man who was universally loved behind the scenes. He suffered a massive heart attack aged just 41, dying in 2004.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
