In today's WWE, sensitivity is a big issue. Over the years, the company have been taken to task by groups such as GLAAD for supposedly promoting intolerance against the gay and lesbian community. Nowadays, WWE try to ensure they come across as respectful to everyone they can.

It wasn't always this way, the promotion have at times completely disregarded the opinions of others. This was never more evident than when they hyped up the introduction of the 'Junior Division' in 2005.

Confused fans must have wondered what was in store, but they wouldn't have to wait long. WWE were about to begin a midget wrestling division on SmackDown.

Calling it the 'Midget Division' would have been bad enough, but WWE didn't help themselves by referring to little people as 'Juniors'. The graphic used to accompany matches involving guys like Mascarita Sagrada had a child-like feel to it, one which likely insulted those of smaller stature watching shows.

The insinuation was clear; these mini-grapplers were akin to kids. Naturally, the Junior Division only lasted a few months before it was abolished, never to be seen again.
