10 Reasons Shane McMahon Vs The Undertaker Is A Mistake

WrestleMania's co-main event is a bad idea.

When fans dreamed of WrestleMania 32, they imagined matches like Steve Austin versus Brock Lesnar, Sting versus The Undertaker, and Seth Rollins versus Triple H. Nobody imagined Shane McMahon versus The Undertaker. Both as a match and a narrative, it makes very little sense. Shane McMahon versus The Undertaker inside Hell In A Cell at WrestleMania? Just writing it feels surreal. WWE have boldly gone in a direction that nobody saw coming, with not even the industry insiders believing this would've been an option. The original plan had been John Cena versus The Undertaker, and even a week ago, Cena was still indicating that he had hopes of making it back for a match at WrestleMania. But Raw this week was Cena's deadline, and with his recovery still way off, WWE pulled the trigger on Shane McMahon against The Undertaker. The story is that Shane's back to challenge The Authority, with Vince McMahon saying he can have control of Raw if he defeats the Deadman inside Hell In A Cell at MMania. A face versus face, a thrown together story, a forty six year old businessman who hasn't wrestled in seven years... what could possibly go wrong? It is a bold booking, it has got people talking, but for several reasons it is ultimately a big mistake.
