10 Reasons Why WWE Must Turn John Cena Heel Immediately

If you've read any of my previous articles, then you know that I'm a huge John Cena fan. I think he's incredible in the ring, I enjoy his promos, and I respect the way he's tirelessly carried WWE for the past decade. I also think he's a fantastic babyface - while his promos can be a bit too jokey at times (especially after big losses), he's a fully realized hero who makes for a great protagonist on Raw. Unfortunately, it's clear that not enough people agree with me - Raw ratings as of late have slipped to their lowest levels in nearly two decades, and while Seth Rollins is WWE Champion, John Cena is still the face of the company. A major change in business needs to start with him, and a major change is needed. To be sure, there are problems with turning Cena. First and foremost is merchandise - Cena is the company's most successful merch mover by far, and if he were to turn, both WWE and Cena himself would take a huge hit. There's also the issue of his charity work - Cena has granted over 500 wishes for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which is his greatest career accomplishment. It's terribly sad to imagine that coming to an end. For those reasons, a Cena heel turn really needs to be worth it - it needs to be the magic ingredient that turns WWE's business around.
