Looks are still important.

Pro wrestling (certainly in the WWE-dominated era) has rarely put less emphasis on bulging muscles and physical size than it does today. Other things, like in-ring skills and a connection to fans across the globe on social media are ultra-important, not how buff someone is. Put it this way: big muscles don't necessarily guarantee any success, and yet, yes, looks are still important.

Wrestlers must be marketable, and they have to be able to sell themselves as a product worth investing in both to fans and the promotion they work for.
