At the same time, he has been dubbed "The Architect" because of his ability to think, to create opportunities and scenarios that benefit him. He is also a hell of an athlete who has beaten everyone from John Cena to Randy Orton and even nearly knocked off Brock Lesnar, proving his toughness. To have him dressed down in a backstage segment by Stephanie, who was unhappy with one of Rollins' failures, not only erases that toughness but further reminds the audience of how reliant on someone else he is to succeed. Yes, that is character development, but being put in his place like a petulant child or wild dog hurts his credibility and could one day be the difference between him being accepted as a main event talent on his own or not.
